The University of Greenwich is a public university with a history going back to 1890, when it was established as Woolwich Polytechnic. It gained full university status in 1992 and today is home to around 25,000 students from over 150 countries. The university has three campuses across London and Kent: the historic Greenwich Campus in central London, the green and spacious Avery Hill Campus in south-east London, and the last one being the Medway Campus in Chatham Maritime.
