About Northumbria University
Northumbria University is a research-intensive institution located in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne, with a second campus in London. It traces its origins back to three Newcastle colleges (Rutherford College of Technology, College of Art & Industrial Design, and Municipal College of Commerce), which merged to become a polytechnic in 1969 and were granted university status in 1992.
Today it is one of the UK's largest universities, recognised for design, business, computing and law. Its celebrated design school counts Apple's chief designer, Sir Jony Ive, among its graduates.
Every undergraduate course guarantees real-world experience through a placement, live project or period of study abroad.
Why The University for Kenyan Students
Northumbria offers Kenyan students a highly rated UK degree at a lower overall cost than most London universities, since living expenses in Newcastle are considerably lower.
The university ranks 37th nationally; its available international scholarship for Kenyan students reduces tuition by several thousand pounds, and every course includes real-world experience that strengthens employability.
