About University of Salford
The University of Salford is a state university in Greater Manchester, about a mile from Manchester city centre. It started in 1896 as the Royal Technical Institute, set up to train workers during the industrial era, and became a full university in 1967.
Presently, the university teaches across three sites: the main Peel Park campus, MediaCityUK (which neighbours the BBC and ITV studios), and Frederick Road.
Courses are designed alongside employers, with placements, live briefs, and guest lectures built into the teaching. Around 28,000 students study here, including 4,500 from overseas.
Why University of Salford for Kenyan Students
For Kenyan students who want an industry-linked degree close to Manchester, the University of Salford makes sense. Tuition here is lower than at most London universities. The MediaCityUK campus is right next to the BBC and ITV studios, and that kind of access is rare.
