When Do January Intake Classes Begin?
January intake classes in the UK typically begin in early to mid-January, with most universities starting between the second and third week of the month.
A 12-month master's programme starting in January runs through to December of the same year, so students who start in January 2027 will graduate in December 2027.
Most universities hold orientation sessions before the term begins to help new international students settle in before lectures start. Nigerian students should factor in travel time, accommodation arrangements, and the TB test well enough before the course start date, because the January timeline leaves very little room for last-minute confusion.
Short Note
Nigerian students applying for the January intake should start preparing at least eight to twelve months in advance to have enough time for applications, English language tests, CAS issuance, the TB test, and visa processing.
