When Do Undergraduate Courses Start in the UK?

Almost all UK undergraduate courses start in September, which is the main intake and the one Nigerian students should plan around. 

A small number of universities offer January entries for select programmes, but students should verify availability directly with their chosen university before applying.

Nigerian students planning to pursue an undergraduate degree in the UK should start the process at least 12 months before the September intake to allow enough time for UCAS applications, English language tests, visa processing, and travel arrangements.

What Is the CAS Timeline for Undergraduate Students in the UK?

For undergraduates starting in September, the CAS is usually issued between June and August, one to three months before the course begins, after the offer is accepted and the tuition deposit is paid. 

Once the CAS arrives, Nigerian students should immediately book a TB test at an IOM-approved clinic in Abuja or Lagos and submit the visa application via gov.uk, with standard processing taking three to four weeks.
