About Royal Holloway, University of London
Royal Holloway, University of London, is a research university on a beautiful 135-acre campus in Egham, Surrey, just 40 minutes from central London. Victorian philanthropist Thomas Holloway founded it in 1879, and Queen Victoria officially opened it in 1886. It began as a women’s college, which was a big deal at the time. It merged with Bedford College in 1985 to become the Royal Holloway we know today. Over 12,000 students from more than 130 countries study across six academic schools. The university sits in the UK top 35 and in the top 25% for world-leading research.
Why It Suits Nigerian Students
Royal Holloway has a dedicated page for Nigerian applicants, a named adviser with whom students can book a free call, and the kind of university where students actually feel seen. Class sizes are small enough that lecturers know everyone’s name. For Nigerians who want a real experience, this university is worth consideration.
