About The University of Law

The University of Law (ULaw) is one of the UK’s longest-established providers of legal education, with more law students choosing it than any other UK university in 2023.

It started in 1876 with the formation of the tutorial firm Gibson & Weldon. In 2016, ULaw expanded its expertise and opened a business school.

It has campuses in major UK cities, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Leeds. It offers adaptable study options and opportunities for practical learning.

The university places emphasis on application, with support from experienced tutors – many of whom are former lawyers, barristers, or professionals from relevant fields.

Why ULaw for Nigerian Students

ULaw is a good choice for Nigerian students because of its strong record of employability and professional connections with leading firms.

The university also supports ambition with professional teaching, mentoring, and scholarships. Its welcoming community, expert tutors, and global outlook give Nigerian students the practical skills to excel in law, business, or governance.

Campus Life

The University of Law keeps things focused. Students are close to law firms, courts, and businesses from day one.

The social side is quieter than at a traditional university, which suits students who are here to get serious about a legal career.

Library & Learning

Each University of Law campus offers a supportive library team and quiet spaces for study and research.

Sports Centre

There are local gyms, fitness and recreational centres for students to use.

Cafés & Restaurants

Students get refreshments, from quick bites to substantial meals, in the cafes.

Entertainment

Social events, networking nights, and themed student activities are regularly held across campuses.

The Students' Union runs clubs for law, business, and creative interests.

Students from over 120 countries study at IN ULaw, creating a diverse community.

Life in United Kingdom

Located in one of the UK's most vibrant cities, students enjoy access to cultural events, shopping districts, nightlife, and excellent transport links connecting major cities across the country.

Careers

The University of Law takes careers seriously in a way that most universities do not, because it has to. Students are here to qualify for and enter legal or professional practice, so employability support is built around that reality.

One-to-one career appointments are available from day one, even before the course starts for postgraduate students. Students get access to CV support, interview coaching, employer talks, careers fairs, and a live vacancy database covering training contracts, pupillages, and graduate roles. The pro bono programme offers over 3,500 opportunities per year to gain hands-on legal experience alongside studies.

Graduate Outcomes

91% of postgraduate students in work were in highly skilled roles 15 months after graduating. For those who do not find work, the university's Employment Promise means students can claim 50% of their fees back as cashback, plus 50% as course credit, if they do not secure a job within nine months of completing their course. Career support continues after graduation through an alumni network of over 70,000 members.
