About University of Roehampton
The University of Roehampton is not a typical London university. It sits on a 54-acre parkland campus in southwest London, about 20 minutes from the city centre, and the setting genuinely feels like it belongs somewhere in the English countryside rather than one of the world's busiest cities.
The university grew out of four historic teacher training colleges, the oldest of which dates back to 1841. It became fully independent in 2004 and got its current name in 2011.
Today, around 9,000 students from over 146 countries study here. REF 2021 ranked Roehampton the joint-best modern university in the UK for research, with 77% of its research outcomes rated world-leading or internationally excellent.
Why the University for Nigerian Students
Roehampton has a dedicated Nigeria page and a local representative in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, which demonstrates its commitment to Nigerian applicants. Nigeria is explicitly listed under the Country Scholarship A award, which removes one of the biggest hurdles Nigerian applicants face.
