USW has been climbing steadily and recently hit its highest-ever positions across major tables.

94% of USW graduates are in employment or further study 15 months after finishing, and the university has been top in Wales for new business start-ups for five years in a row. The Careers team offers one-to-one advice, CV support, mock interviews, and direct employer introductions throughout the year. Engineering and cyber students have done placements with Airbus, the Royal Mint, and GCHQ. Healthcare students train in blue-light emergency simulations with NHS partners. Law students take on real cases through the USW Legal Advice Clinic. Career support continues after graduation and covers employment, freelancing, and starting a business.

The Advice Zone on each campus is where most students’ journeys through USW support actually begin. Academic guidance, well-being, money advice, disability services, and international help all sit together in one place. Students walk in with a problem and leave pointed in the right direction, without being transferred three times to find someone who can actually help.
